I still remember the day you came in my life

The sweetness of your charm did so ring an alarm

My mind bellowed caution

But my heart fluttered to your tune

I thought you were the one I craved

Your grace was mesmerizing

Your words so captivating

You made me believe in my self

And I was convinced of your love

There were times when in doubt

I confessed my feelings aloud

But you were always so assuredly alluring

I failed to see the truth behind your lies

My entity was in a trance

My days began to shine and my nights

A twilight zone of gleaming dreams

Oh! What a fool I had been

You were never mine to begin with

Closed my eyes to deception and deceit

Believed in each perception

Trusted you with complete devotion

There was no noise no thunderstorm

When my dreams broke there was no sound

Only stillness was left behind

And ruins of my being scattered around
